Laurie looked back at his work. He was so close to the end, once he had written the last few scenes, it was just rewriting it a few dozen times and making it good. It felt good to look at his plan on the wall, colour coded and mapped out.
‘There it is’ he thought, ‘the beginnings of a story’.
The yellow and orange are the main story, the love story, yellow for interiors, orange for exteriors. The pinks work the same way for the B-story, the sub plot, in which the character Laura gets a job. The green, that’s dream sequences, cutaways and flashbacks, anything on a different chronological path.
And those five stickies at the bottom? They’re the last few scenes. The sixth sticky, that reads ‘END’.
